"Together we can face any challenges as deep as the ocean and as high as the sky."

When we launched The Malibu Project, our goal was clear: to meet the immediate needs of our community. This meant helping small businesses stay open, and ensuring local nonprofits could continue delivering critical services in the aftermath of wildfire devastation.

What we learned along the way reshaped our vision.
The long-term sustainability of Malibu is inseparable from the health of the environment that defines it. A thriving community depends on a thriving coastline.

LETTER FROM THE FOUNDERS
A MESSAGE FROM LEESA & TARA

That understanding is guiding our next chapter. In the year ahead, we
are dedicating our work to advancing a four-phase plan to restore and protect
Malibu’s coastline. This effort is being led by the incomparable ocean expert Mark Gold and his dream team of scientists.

Together, we are building a science-driven, community- powered approach to coastal resilience that will protect marine ecosystems while strengthening Malibu for generations to come.
We are deeply grateful to our partners, supporters, and neighbors who believed in this work from the beginning. This first year laid the foundation. The work ahead is bold and we are just getting started.
With gratitude,

Leesa Evans & Tara Kohlberg Co-Founders, The Malibu Project
